5. Ginger Lowers Blood Sugar and Improves Risk Factors of Heart Disease
Although this area of research is still new, ginger has powerful anti diabetic properties.
In a 2015 study conducted with 41 participants with type 2 diabetes, 2 grams of ginger every day lowered fasting sugars by 12%. (11).
There was a 28% reduction in ApoB/ApoA-1 ratio and a 23% reduction in markers for oxidized lipoproteins. These are risk factors for heart disease.
Take into account that this only one small study and there is still need for larger studies to be done before making any recommendations.
